Since retiring from full-time practice in 2021, Lynn has assisted other lawyers in the firm in all areas of employment law, general civil litigation, and contract disputes. While still practicing, Lynn specialized in employment and contract law for the construction and landscape industries, as well as manufacturers and retailers. She assisted clients with the compliance side of contract and employment law by utilizing preventative policies and strategies, developing contracts, employment agreements, personnel handbooks, restrictive covenants, releases, and separation agreements. In connection with her construction practice, she also has significant experience in environmental cases involving siltation and water runoff and governmental contract issues.
Lynn is licensed to practice in the states of Georgia and Florida.
Counseled clients on the practical aspects of complying with all aspects of government and private contract law and employment related issues, including by proactively assisting clients in assessing, reducing, and eliminating employment-related risks and exposure through best practices such as drafting and enforcement of contracts, handbooks, agreements preventing disclosure of proprietary information, and non-competition and non-solicitation agreements.
Represented organizations, associations, companies, and selected individuals in successful resolution of cases in various state and federal forums involving employment discrimination-related claims such as Title VII, age, race, sex, and disability discrimination, FLSA wage & hour disputes, FMLA, and pay disparities.
Handled administrative and investigative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, OSHA complaints, wage claims, and government contract compliance issues such as disadvantaged business enterprise compliance.
Represented clients in the construction and green industries such as contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and owners in contract disputes involving issues of breach of contract, negligence, payment and performance bonds, procurement law, affirmative action obligations, supplier certifications and representations, disclosure obligations, pay when paid clauses, enforceability of arbitration provisions, bidder qualifications, default, and terminations and performance of work.
Assisted landowners, developers, and homeowner's associations with long-term successful resolution of stormwater management and siltation issues and nuisance and trespass cases.
Has extensive experience negotiating and drafting multi-layer construction contracts for commercial developments throughout the southeastern United States.
Filed suit in state court alleging breaches of fiduciary duties and loss of business opportunities and successfully mediated on behalf of an engineering company to obtain a recovery against a former corporate officer.
Provides ongoing training and counseling for the on-site managers of a client with multiple senior living facilities to ensure FMLA compliance, as well as handling other employment issues.
Successfully litigated and resolved a construction company's dispute with a local Georgia municipality over differing site condition claims.
Counseled contractors and developers on siltation and water runoff issues and drafted the resulting site access and cleanup protocols.
Specializes in resolving small businesses' employment claims through settlement and conciliation, then subsequently assisting employers in reducing future employment-related risks and exposure through introduction of new handbooks, applications, background check policies, and employment contracts.
